Instructions for Roman Chair Leg Raise

To perform a set of roman chair leg raise:

  1. Starting Position

    Setup in the roman chair with your shoulders in a neutral position, your elbows directly underneath on the arm rests and your legs straight down in the air. The trunk shuld be in a neutral position against the back rest.

  2. Concentric (Upward) Motion

    Maintain the neutral position of your trunk as you raise your legs as high as you can. Remember to keep your legs fully extended and breathe throughout the entire movement.

  3. Top position

    Pause at the top position for a 1sec count while maintaining full body tension.

  4. Eccentric (Lowering) Motion

    Maintain the neutral position of your trunk and shoulders as you lower your legs back down under control. Remember to breathe throughout the entire movement.

  5. End position

    Repeat steps 1 through 4 until you have completed the desired number of roman chair leg raise repetitions before resting your feet on the supports.

This completes one set of roman chair leg raise.
